Shelley Dundee

Shelley is a Solicitor based in our Coventry office specialising in all types of criminal defence work, in particular, motoring offences.

Experience

Having qualified as a solicitor in 2014, Shelley has invaluable experience and skill in representing clients in relation to all aspects of criminal defence work at police stations, Magistrates Courts and alongside Counsel at Crown Courts.

Prior to qualifying, Shelley dealt with prison law cases where she represented inmates at adjudications and prison disciplinary proceedings, along with assisting with re-categorisation decisions, applications for Home Detention Curfew and Parole. In addition, she also advised clients in relation to mental health law and represented clients at Tribunals and Hospital Managers’ Hearings.

With a meticulous approach towards her work, Shelley has over eleven years of hands-on experience on her feet in the Magistrates Court and is a confident, careful and well respected Court advocate, deeply committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Shelley supports clients with mental health conditions, ensuring their cases receive the extra care and attention required. Shelley ensures she understands her clients’ unique circumstances in order to best advice and provide effective representation, ultimately achieving fair results.

In addition to general criminal defence practice, Shelley has an excellent track record in successful applications for exceptional hardship where motorists face losing their driving licence under the ‘totting up’ procedure. She is also experienced in making written representations to the Disclosure & Barring Service for those who face difficulties securing employment due to previous convictions or entries made by the Police. She is able to represent clients at non-police interviews, such a local Council or DWP prosecutions. In addition, she is experienced in making representations for variation or removal of ancillary orders imposed by the Court upon sentence.

With a strong network of professional relationships, Shelley often works with medical professionals, forensic experts, and Counsel, to ensure her clients receive the possible defence.

Hobbies & Interests

Shelley enjoys all things art, music, home renovation and travel. In addition, she has two young children who keep her very busy outside of work.
